COding for designers: FInal project

Design an app or a game for a cause that you deeply care about.

I chose to create an interactive game/slideshow to emphasize the topic of Hate Crimes against Asians and Asian Americans within the United States. In order to help me visualize what I wanted the process to look like, I drew some thumbnail sketches. I referenced information from a research paper I wrote about "Hate Crimes and Discrimination Against Asian Americans" that highlighted the effects that the COVID Pandemic had against Asian Americans within the United States.

Additionally, I wrote down some pseudo-code to make it easier for me to code the project:

I then created some of the graphics to use within my code in Adobe Illustrator (e.g. restaurant sign and graffiti) and I developed the code for the project in Processing. The game/slideshow comes from the perspective of the aggressor to place heavy emphasis on what it was like to be Asian American in the time of the COVID Pandemic.
